Customary Land Registry Resource Book

The Uganda National Land Policy advocates for the elevation of customary land tenure to a level similar to the other three tenures, namey; freehold, Mailo and leasehold tenure. One of the proposed strategies is the establishment of a land registration system to support the registration of rights under customary tenure. Secure land tenure requires that legal rights to land are adequately defined and documented.
