Two Young Dynamic Legal Officers Needed to work in Acholi and Karamoja Sub-Regions

LANDnet Uganda is looking for young dynamic Legal Officers with a minimum of 5 years of work experience to support its work on Land Management in the Acholi and Karamoja sub-regions with a Gross pay of UGX 2,372,615 ( Uganda Shillings Two Million, Three Hundred Seventy-two Thousand, Six Hundred fifteen only)

Qualifications And Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate efficiently and constructively in English in a variety of settings such as meetings, discussions with government and other partners, and training workshops.
  • A Law Degree and a Diploma in Legal Practice.
  • At least 5 years experience working on a legal Empowerment program.
  • Strong Conceptual ability, writing skills in English, as well as experience in editing the written work of others.
  • Able to build and nature relationship as well as partnership management
  • Ability to work independently and high-level problem-solving skills.
  • A good understanding of Land issues in Acholi.
  • Project Management: Well organized, attentive to detail, able to set deadlines for providers, and have the people skills to get the best from others. Being self-driven, energetic, and keen to test skills. Able to appreciate the importance of being plan-full and scheduling the management of project activities without being inflexible or rigid.
  • Persuasiveness ( Communication): Supports others in a team in making differences in standpoints and arguments explicit and considering them in a respectful manner and through the way in which he/she behaves, helps bring the various arguments into line.
  • Results-oriented (Motivation): When collaborating with others, sees to it that all activities and decisions contribute to the team result, stimulate team members to take action where necessary, and takes action himself/herself when the achievement of results threatened.
  • Diversity: Understands and appreciates issues from the perspective of other cultures, groups, communities, and others.
  • Gender awareness: Has the ability to review society from the perspective of gender roles and understand how this has affected women's needs in comparison to the needs of men.
  • Showing by displaying vision, action, and sticking to policy, that the aim is to achieve equity between men and women in society, taking into account the environment.
  • Proficiency in English, Fluency in Acholi or Ngakarimojong, and willingness to reside in Kitgum or Moroto is an added advantage.
