Women under their Women Land Rights Movement, matched in Soroti Town to express their plight on Land ownership; an event termed as Mini Kirimanjaro. Some Culture & Customary Norms and Practices, like in Teso sub Region deny Women to own land. But Women have now risen up against this continuous discrimination and abuse of their rights and want Law makers to intervene to change the cultural norms.
The Women with placards carrying messages of minimum demands climbed Soroti Rock, to symbolize Climbing Mt. Kirimanjaro that they say their challenges are as hard as climbing Kirimajaro Mountain, but are determined to overcome them now.
